Wow, what a fast knit. I love the cardigan so much, it’s for my granddaughter’s October birthday, that I decided to make another one for me.

All yarn is from my stash except one skein, and I’ll be able to make the second one from my stash too, except will have to buy one skein to fill in.

The pattern calls for knitting the button band separately and sewing on after. I try to avoid sewing whenever I can so instead I picked up stitches for the button band, 3 for every 4 for the center bands and then picked up each stitch on the back neck, and did a k2p2 ribbing. I made the ribbing a scant two inches wide but next time I’ll make it a tad over two inches. I made 5 buttonholes evenly spaced between the start of the V and the hem. Buttonholes were made in the middle of the button band by casting off two stitches, then casting them on again on the following row. I cast off knitwise on the right side for a clean finish. Also, no pockets.
