Test knitting the pattern for Dena.

Pattern:
Written and charted instructions. The asymmetry demands my full attention, but after the set-up rows it’s easier. Using stitch markers is important for this pattern, maybe one color for the edges, another color for the 2nd last marker and a third color for the rest in the middle (thanks skyhag for the tip). Charted instructions helped me at the beginning, but for the main body it was easier to follow the written instructions.

I messed up with the border - my bad, but I had to do some thinking to figure things out. At the beginning of the garter border stitch markers on the right side (removable markers) were helpful: I added markers (different color) that I shifted 2 sts on RS to mark where garter should begin on WS. I worked about 5 cm garter border after the transition.

I started over with a graded yarn with long repeats held together with a solid (both lace weight, together they make about fingering weight) and like the result much better than lace weight alone (my first take, see last pic). This version is knitting up to a half circle (well a bit less, see finished shawl unblocked).

Done! Just in time for the deadline, see pics of both unblocked and blocked shawl. I used about 700 m yarn, I have left 16 g of the Schoppel ball.

If I make another one I will try yo,k,yo,k,yo,k,yo for the lacy swirls, I would like the final shape to be larger than a half circle.
