Notes

This Fairy Tale begins with a Unicorn and ends happily ever after.

Decided I wanted to make this a little bit warmer version, so after swatching, used a 3mm and held two yarns together: a sport/fingering/sock weight with the corresponding color in lace weight silk/mohair.

The Unicorn and Blackberry yarns were leftover from making my Frozen Tears sweater. The white Kid Gloss was leftover from making my Birch Goddess sweater. And the Dewberry from Tanzanite Lingerie.

Took out two rows in the yoke as I was concerned that my gauge was taller than the pattern. When I got to the end, I felt the overall length was a little shorter than I would like. Added a crocheted seashell belt using 4mm hook. Thought I was going to add some sort of crocheted lace pattern, but decided the crochet work was thicker and heavier than I really liked, so opted to switch to the 4mm knitting needles and this is where the Dewberry is used—looks so much like the Blackberry used everywhere else when marled with the mohair, unless you look very closely. Did two repeats of the lace pattern from the yoke and body, then finished with the crochet pattern used in the original pattern.

Sleeves are shorter by 4 rows.

Already dreaming of possibly finding a bamboo yarn and doing a version on larger needles to show off the lacework and be a cooler summer version.
