This was my first time knitting brioche, and of course I have to choose something a little more complicated, but I fell in love with the Liguria when I saw it, and just had to knit it. Now I am better for it because I had to tink down several times, and that is rough with the decrease! BUT, now I feel completely confident and even learned how to fix brioche stitches that have dropped or have errors! This was definitely a labor of LOVE, but I’m SO happy with how it turned out!

Having said all that, I accidentally used a long tail cast on and once I realized it, after 84 stitches, I decided to stick with it. Because of this, I knit one row before the set up row, just to insure a good join of the CC. I also used light worsted yarn because that’s all I had on hand and wanted to start immediately. The Lion Brand Ferris Wheel is more like a DK than a worsted yarn anyway.

I also messed up the top of the crown. Just as I was heading towards the finish line with the final row and stitches of K2togs and NO mistakes, I dropped a K2tog. Not relishing having to tink down several rows to fix it, I fudged it..hence why I’m missing that perfect flower center. DRATS!

Finally, with 4 repeats, this hat is pretty long, like slouchy long, but due to the thickness of the brioche, it doesn’t slouch, so next time I will do 3 repeats instead of 4.
