Yarn:
The cashmere I used is of a finer weight; so, I combined 2 strands from 2 skeins (used only half of the yarn from each skein). The FO has a beautiful halo which I was not expecting. Hopefully, this will be suitable for a German winter.

Note on Construction:
Hats never fit quite right for me and since it is a small project, I prefer not to gauge (this is probably the reason for it not ever fitting properly). To account for the lack of gauging, I change out the construction if frogging is required.

Knitting:
Provisional CO 96 sts on waste yarn
Set-up Rows:
After CO, knit 1 row in yarn to be used for hat and at end of the row cast on 1 stitch.
Joining for knitting in the round set-up:
Begin working in the round by knitting together this cast on st with the first st of row.
Round 1: Increase 96 sts to 128 sts via [k3, m1], repeat to end until have 128 sts on needles
The yarn used is lighter weight so I need more stitches on needles to accommodate the difference in gauge.
I use a half hitch increase (or backward loop) so I do not use any running thread from prior set-up row (the set-up row will be needed when doing the brim and I do not want any un-wanted distortion of the knitting)

Body & Crown: Follow Pattern Chart as is
Next time for the body, do Pattern 1.5x before doing crown for added length since the cashmere tends to be squat and compact.
Brim: Remove waste yarn and put on US 5 needles and knit 29 rnds of 1x1 twisted-stitch rib
BO: modified JSSSBO (put in a YO after every other stitch for a flexible BO)
