I fell in love with this cowl on the purlbee site, and was dismayed to find the original colors were all out. It was frightening to purchase the purple yarns from different sellers without seeing them in person, but I think they go okay together. Trying to purchase directly from Alchemy, or their website, wasn’t fruitful.

This is a gift for my mom. I don’t think of this as a cowl, due to it looking more like a mini-neck/shoulder shawl. Holding it vertical when it’s finished, I could wear it as a full shirt! But it squishes down enough that it hides its gigantic proportions.

It is a nice, easy project, and I think it turned out well. I saw someone else post the brilliant idea to put the cone of yarn on a spindle attached to the inside of a shoe box and this was so helpful!

Update: My mom has worn it every day since I gave it to her and it looks great on her. She likes that she can pull it down over her shoulders or scrunch it up for a scarf.
