Tip tip tippity tip: If you don’t get gauge for rows, work the front and back at the same time so your armscyes start at the same point.

Modifications I made (aside from gauge issues): at the point where the front bottom gets split off, I put a row of matching k2tog, yo/yo, ssk about an inch and a half apart (8 total, I believe) so I could lace the icord through the back rather than letting it hang loose (and likely bunch the fabric in a way that was uncomfortable to lean back on).

I also used TechKnitter’s article on Kitchener Stitch/Grafting for the neck grafting to do it in pattern. The article is in the Spring 2010 issue of Interweave Knits.

Swatch: 22 st, 34 rows to 10 cm/4”
Gauge: 23 st, 30.5 rows to 10cm/4”
Unwashed: 30 rows to 10 cm/4”

Alterations due to gauge:
Knit to 12.75” instead of 11.25”
