Notes

Another test for Linda Marveng. I’m testing the cowl. The test started april 28. Patreon members had the opportunity for an earlier start, so I ordered my yarn and got started.
The cowl is knitted in the round (as a double layer), with beautiful cables. It will be perfect for a cold winter.
The chart is very clear, and the cables are marked with different colors in the chart, which makes them easy to read. Though it’s a project where one has to focus because of the cables, I found it a good TV knitting project, interesting but not too difficult.
I used Varde from Hillesvåg as my yarn. I love it, though it was a bit hard on my hands, so I couldn’t knit too much at the same time. After washing, it softened a lot, and feels good to wear around my neck.
I used smaller needle sizes than the pattern suggests, to relax my hands by knitting looser. It wasn’t difficult to get the pattern measurements though. I also worked with a longer cable, in the magic loop technique, also this to relax my hands.
I’m glad that I worked to suggested length, as the pattern says. The fit is perfect!
The cowl is a great supplement to my Gavida. My project page for this is found here.

Measurements:
My head circumferance: 53 cm.
My finished cowl circumference, washed: 58 cm. Width: 18 cm.

Blocking during the progress:
After 3 chart repeats and 27 rounds, I washed it and blocked it wet to 18 cm width and 46 cm length.
One chart repeat measured wet 11 cm.
The cowl measured dry has the same length as wet, but is slightly narrower.
