Notes to Others

I hypothesize that it might work well as an infinity style scarf modified to be a wider and shorter cowl to allow for multiple wraps around the neck. Ifanyone reads this and tries it, I’d love to see it. :)

For the bind off, if you have issues, try Lori’s Twisty Bind Off saved the day - Trust me!

Notes to Self

  • Used Crochet Cast On --- crochet cast on is not tight like the long tail cast on is --- matches look of bind off

  • Cast off --- Pattern says to cast off knitwise - however this puts a weird looking stitch along the anterior wall. --- I cast off in pattern in stead - knitting one stitch and purling one stitch - this matched the look of my cast on and looks like it belongs with the pattern.

  • Alternating skeins --- I am doing old/outgoing yarn on top. --- Andrea says new/incoming yarn on top. - But also says as long as you are consistent, that matters more. --- Am wondering about the directions I saw online that warned against creating holes in your work --- currently the ribbing at the botom follows a method I found on youtube, (which I no longer remember), looks nice, and couldn’t continue bc it depended on having a knit stitch as last and first stitch. -

My method of skein alteration is old or outgoing yarn on top at the switch.

Issues

PROBLEM: k1 p1 ribbing got loosey goosey at the end (not really sure why my guage got so loose all of a sudden)
SOLUTION: rip back final ribbing rows and redo ribbing with sz 7 needles

PROBLEM: Knitted cast off put the stitches anterior and looked huge and out of place
SOLUTION: cast off in pattern with k1,p1 ribbing

PROBLEM: k1,p1 cast off still flared (not as much as with the all knit and sans the ugly all knit stich, but still flared)
SOLUTION: enter Lori’s twisted cast off :)
- this worked best working tightly - also detached the needle tip (using interchangeables) to manage the twisting motion.
