My main goal for the Ravellenic Games is to knit my first ever pair of socks. I’m in training, also known as swatching, right now. I have 3 possible patterns I would use from Toe-Up Two-at-a-Time Socks. I’ll make my final decision on Friday before I cast on :).

Updated 7/27: I had a gauge of 7.5 sts/in with a size 2 needle, so I picked up a size 1 needle at Knitty City today and just assumed my gauge will be 8 sts/in. I missed the Opening Ceremonies and cast on around 7:30 p.m. After two false starts, I’m now working through the pattern.

Updated 7/28: Tragedy struck this morning and a lot of stitches fell off the needles. I wasn’t fast enough to save the tiny stitches, so I decided to just start fresh since I wasn’t super satisfied with how things were turning out. It did give me the opportunity to wind the yarn into two balls, instead of pulling from different ends of the same skein.

Updated 8/3: My hands were bothering me so I bought some bamboo needles on Wednesday. However, today, I snapped one in half (oops). I guess I should just stick with the needles I have and just knit a few rows at a time. I just finished Row 3 on the cable chart.

Updated 12/24: I’m not sure if sock knitting just isn’t for me or if knitting these socks just isn’t for me. Either way, I’ve decided to unravel these and repurpose the yarn.
