Coo! December is here, and you know what that means! Wintersday is around the corner! Who needs a silly quaggan in an ugly sweater when you have this cutie? Who may be an alien quaggan from outerspace who has come to eat your presents on Wintersday? Or an anime quaggan thats the old asian guy monk at the top of a mountain the main character learns from? Who knows!

A HUGE thank you to poroquagganbob for the idea!

The quaggan is made with a 3.75mm crochet hook with Red Heart Super Saver. No difference in the pattern other than the feet, which all I did was end it early and make a flat circle in a different color and sew them together.

The reindeer antlers, the hat, and the scarf are freehanded by me.

I did not write any notes down for the hat, but it was roughly based on this pattern from Red Heart. I chained enough with white to fit around the quaggan’s head, then did 6 or so rows of sc in white. Joined red and went through the back loops (using hdc), chaining enough to go around the antlers, and added a little bit extra because I plan on torturing, I mean, dressing up some of my cats with it. ;) I would recommend you follow closely to the pattern I linked above. A few rows of hdc, followed by a row that has decreases in it, with a row of hdc all the way around, then dec row, etc etc, until you have a long pointy hat. Add a pompom and you’re all set!

The red part of the hat was made with Red Heart Super Saver, the white brim and pompom was made with “Katia Mousse” mixed with an unknown mixed ribbon-like yarn.

The scarf was made with the unknown yarn. All I can say is that it seems like a mix between ribbon and yarn. I used a 6.5mm hook. Chain a chain however long you would like. I think mine was around 60 chains (+1 for turning chain). Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. Row 2- sc, dc, sc, dc. Across. Row 3- dc in sc, sc in dc, across. That’s it! Cut a few inches of yarn and add a fringe.

These are my notes for the reindeer antlers. Use a 3.75mm hook if you’re using Red Heart Super Saver.
