Notes

Baby boy Henry Jack Robert was in a hurry and arrived 9 days early on 21st December, weighing in at 9lbs 9ozs, he’s a whopper Welcome to the world Henry.

My niece Lorna has asked for this blanket, but as she is having a baby boy, I thought I would add a bobble to the top and bottom and make diamonds, so as to be less girly.

I have used you US hdc instead of UK sc as my stitches are quite shallow.

I started with the five rows of hdc, but as I am adding and extra 4 rows to the pattern by doing diamonds, I didn’t work the 5 rows in between the diamonds.

I worked 3 pattern repeats for each stripe, changing colour on the next right side row after diamond.

I’m going to work 5 colour repeats, alternating white and silver.

The blanket is looking quite nice, but it is a little boring to make.

Each stripe is taking 100gms of yarn.

I finished with a sc round in the colours, so grey on grey and white on white. I find this neatens the edges nicely all ready for the white rounds.

I then worked a hdc row on both sides and then finished with crab stitch in white instead of grey.

I’m very pleased with this blanket and hope that Lorna likes it for baby Henry.

What I did to make flower into diamond:

Before row 6 an after row 10 of flower pattern:

Ch 1, 7 hdc (mb, 19 hdc) x 6 mb 7 hdc

Before row 16 and after row 20

Ch 1 ,17 hdc (mb, 19 hdc) x 5 mb, 17 hdc
