Winter 2016 KAL Project with Aunt Cissy!
Nov 2015 - Yarn and pattern purchased. Yarn purchased during a Knitters Day Out to Dayton, Washington. We enjoying searching through the beautiful rows of yarn at Jacci’s Yarn Basket and then repaired a few doors down for a lovely lunch. Great memories to start another great project together!

Just finished the last of the blue sections and realized how much this yarn weight has changed the project! It said it was a “fingering” weight yarn, but it is so thin and light that it used so much less yarn than called for and is going to make the finished project quite a bit smaller. If I would have known this I would have kept looking for another yarn, but it is still going to be a lovely shawl. Just small! If I feel like it, I could figure out how to adjust the pattern to add another repeat of blue and beige rows, but I might be well tired of this pattern by then. :)

Finished this off today! Followed the pattern as written.
As the shawl got bigger, I became less convinced of my enthusiasm for shawls + lacework! However, it’s done.
The yarn is definitely a light fingering and knit up at a smaller gauge than the project called for. However, the blue is beautiful and the final piece is lovely. Just need to get hold of some foam blocks so I can soak and properly block it.

Soaked and blocked at last. Final measurements are 44” wingtip span and 22” from center top to outward point.
