I began this project on size 1 needles for the ribbing, and size 2 needles for the body. That resulted in a hat too small for an adult to wear (I have a 22” head), but probably okay for a toddler. I really should have swatched!

Cast on for hat #2 using size 3 needles for the ribbing and size 4 needles for the body and crown. Was able to meet pattern guage exactly this time. Added a flower chart just before beginning crown decreases to make the hat a bit longer. I think I could have added an additional 6 rows somewhere in the pattern, which would have made the hat long enough to cover my ears. Height of hat from cast-on edge to start of decreases is 5-14”.
