Notes

Rectangular to use up 4 or 5 yarns in my stash.
All Acrylic worsted. Couple of blacks, several grays, Red Mary Maxim and Recycled blue denim.

Design plan:
Begin with center block of red
Gray
Black
Denim

Bag#2: Red-Gray-Black-Denim

Final Rounds: Red

Yarn has been divided into Bag A and Bag B with 4 colors in each bag.

No particular number of rows
Make a small red center
Use Gray until end of a round
Then complete a color and move onto the next.

I monitored the initial red and gray so that the bright red center would be less noticeable than a huge splotch of red.

Note to self on rectangular grannies. Make the center start much much longer. As each round is added, the afghan approaches a square.
