Notes

Den Skära Blommen or Pink Flower, was originally designed by Kerstin Olsson in 1964 for Bohus Stickning and has most recently been recreated by Solveig Gustafsson and Pernille Silfverberg in 2019.

The pinks in this are beautiful and I am excited to be working on something this delicate again but I’m at a slight stopping point as I wait to hear back from Pernille about a possible error in the chart on row 16. (Reply from her said disregard, so onward!)

In these first photos that show the MC pink and white plus BS 96, it is interesting that BS 96 comes off as having a bluish hue which I think has to do with the proximity to the pink.

Inspired as always by my friend, Donnie, I’m making this one into a yoked cardigan.

Ahhh, these pinks…just about as fun as blues!
Might have to grab a 60” long 2.25mm needle from my LYS

Short rows completed and a few more raglan increases still to go before separating sleeves.

This did not get much traction while I worked on my Crevetten…but back at it lately.

Knitted on body until it measured 8” from underarm (seven buttonholes so far) and then switched to sleeve knitting as a diversion.

First sleeve finished…second one in progress.

With the world in such scary times, I was brightened today by the arrival of the vintage, shell, cat’s eye buttons I purchased for this beautiful Bohus cardigan design. They arrived in a tiny, tidy box from the UK and were beautifully wrapped in tissue and sealed with a logo-ed sticker.

The postage of £3.45 or approx. $4.50 USD, was surprisingly modest for 24 buttons at the cost of $9.15 USD so it really wasn’t that much of a splurge relative to the yarn. These buttons are very nearly identical to the ones on the vintage designs I’ve been in contact with and I will be very excited when the cardigan is finished and I can sew them onto this cardi as well as the next since there are plenty for two!

The Etsy provider, McBurney and Black, can be found here. I will shop there again and I see they still have more of these buttons for sale!
