1/24/15 - Finished! Did the two-color color bind off Nancy shows in the book. It looks great, but need to weave in the ends. Going to knit the matching hat, but cast on less stitches.
1/22/15 - took a break, but back & going to make this one into a cowl and then going to cast on less stitches for the matching hat. this one is way too big to be a hat. :-)
1/12/15 - worked on a few other projects for a day, but back to this one and am up to about 1/2 of it done. Row 20 finished, getting ready to do 5-19 over and then decreases. Really enjoying it. :-)
1/10/15 - restarted the hat with new sport weight yarn and i love it! working up fast and enjoying it a lot. I’m thinking thus will be my “go to” chemo cap pattern, because then they get two for one! :-)
1/8/15 - bought sport weight yarn at Hobby Lobby, what a deal @ 2.29 per skein. Such wonderful yarn. I will be getting MORE for Yarns of Hope Chemo caps soon! :D
Kerry’s head measurements: 22” circumference (that seems like a big head!) & 10,25 crown to just below ear about jaw line
1/6/15 - Cast on my first two-color cable cast on, based on Nancy Marchant’s instructions in the book. Pattern from the book from pages 182-183. Knitted first row in LC and DC and started row 2, LC. (it’s a very crowded knit, so a little hard on my fingers. Maybe it’ll relax more as I get further. :-)
1/7/15 - Uh oh, i realized i cast on too many stitches, because the yarn isn’t sport weight, it’s worsted…. soooooo, going to unravel and recast with less stitches… also considering still continuing to knit this and make a matching one that’s smaller… so one for Kerry and one for her hubby. :D -
1/7/15 - Afternoon lightbulb moment - trying something different: Doing a left-slant decrease every 7, so that means 8 & 9 get decreased together. This will leave 6 multiples of 8, since the pattern is worked on every 8 stitches. could be a complete disaster, but will see. this will at least decrease 8 brioche stitches, and that may give me more room to work with and make this hat not so huge…
1/8/15 - FROGGED!! Unraveled and restarting with new SPORT Weight “I Love This Yarn” from Hobby Lobby.. At $2.29 a skein, it’s a steal. :-)
