Used the Invisible Cast On/Alternate Cable Cast On
I probably shouldn’t admit this but after watching the how-to video for the cast on, it took me over 2 hours to cast on both socks. Slower than molasses.
Knitting two-at-a-time (TAAT)
PATTERN: This is the second time making these and I really enjoy this pattern. Very easy especially for those making socks for the first time. This will be my go-to pattern for men’s socks for certain. Easy to follow pattern and great support, if needed.
MODS: Since so many project photos show the socks as huge, plus many project notes also claim how large they are, I cast on 52 stitches using a US size 2 1/2 needle. But then I double-guessed myself and increased to 56 once the ribbing was made. Sheesh.
YARN: Really like this yarn for men’s socks and will use again. Great stitch definition. Will surely use this yarn for other projects (mittens for sure).
Used 15 gms of the red for toes and heels.
I may not be a fan of Kitchener stitch but I love how these socks turn out. I may even make a pair of these in due course for myself. This definitely has turned into my go-to pattern for men’s socks.
Photos were pre-washing/blocking.
