i made a separate starting chain in white and on row 1, granny stitched through half a color sequence. each color yielded me 7 granny clusters in all 10 colors of the sequence. an even number of clusters per color gives you these evenly square boxes of color.

i used 9 skeins of lion brand jamie yarn for the main piece, which measured 36” x 30”.

i made 8 rows of granny stripe border in css solids and ended with a shell edge.
