Notes

Dixie Pixie Hat goes with this.

Chest - 19”
Arm Length (from side) - 5”
Shoulder to Hem - 11.5”

94g

The work on this begins with the green then yellow.

Remember to slip the first stitch on every row. I slipped it knitwise.

I want to clarify the m1. On this pattern, where it says “k3, m1”, it means to either 1) k3 and then make a stitch with the bar before the next stitch, or 2) k2 then kfb on the third stitch. I chose the first method.

For the increase, I picked up the bar between stitches and knit the first one from the front, slipped the marker, knit 1, then knit the second from the back (that seemed to leave the smallest holes).

The orange/red color run was so long that by the time I got to only five rows left to do, I was JUST beginning the purple. Which means it would have been mostly orange, with weird yellow and green stripes across the back and sleeves. I ripped it back to about Row 53 and cut out quite a bit of the orange, red and purple in order to get more colors in.

The progression of colors in this skein are:
Green
Yellow
Orange
Orange/Red
Red
Purple
Indigo
Blue
Green

Had I realized it was made with all seven colors correctly, I might have cut off the first part and started with the red in order to knit them in order.

The first set of buttonholes makes the holes on the left side, the second set makes them on the right. I think they are too far in from the edge so really need to be done on Row 91.

Ended up ripping it back past the buttonholes. Now that I know how the buttonholes are designed in the pattern, there’s no need to make the unneeded set. Also, I am reducing it to only four buttonholes (leaving off the bottom one).

I worked Row 89 with just the increases at the markers. Since this makes an extra stitch before making the buttonholes, after the second increase on Row 91 will be “k13, yo, k2tog, k8 3x, yo k2tog, k2”.

I bound off on Row 196.

Collar:
Picked up 48 stitches from the inside (3 ridges from each end).
Knit 9 rows.
Increased 5 stitches on next row (back part only).
Knit 7 rows.
