I doubled some thin yarn which gave me approximately worsted weight. Left out one repeat.
Tubular cast on on size 2 needles to tighten it up then work rib in size 4 and hat on size 8.
I did two repeats of the pattern and started decreasing.
I had to make up the crown decreases as I went.
