Notes

2/19/21
I used the leftovers of SpaceCadet’s Gradient Mini Skeins. I used up all of March, April (except the extra 04.004), June, and August bundles. I also used up July’s and September’s 001. I switched colors after doing the lace row and knit row. When the yarn ran out in the middle of the row, I tied the next skein to it and continued. To close off the cowl, I used the Kitchener stitch.

Now that I finished the cowl, it’s a little long to fit my neck but too short for me to double it. I want to keep the gradient look so I’ll have to add more rows. I will have to redo this completely, maybe do repeats of the pattern with whatever yarn I have left.

I frogged everything and restarted from scratch. This time, I’m doing 2 repeats of the pattern before switch colors.

6/1/2021
While knitting up the mini skeins, I was running out of yarn before finishing 2 repeats of the pattern, just as planned with March, April, and June. I tied the new mini skeins together even though I was in the middle of the row. By the time I reached July’s mini skeins, I decided to use up as much yarn as I could. (Except for one of July’s mini skeins. I knitted up two repeats of the pattern, cut the yarn, and then moved on to the next.) I continued knitting the pattern, tying the new skein to the old even during the middle of the row. The mini skeins that had enough yardage to do more than 2 repeats made up for the slack of the short-yardage mini skeins. Once I reached November, the cowl was about enough to wrap around my head twice. So I used up 2 of the orange mini skeins and went back to knitting two repeats of the pattern per mini skein. Closing with December’s mini skeins with January’s, I closed the cowl with a Kitchener stitch.

Now I got January’s, a little bit of February’s, a bit of November’s, and most of December’s mini skeins leftover. I think that’s enough to make a small shawl
