First stranded colorwork sweater and first experience with 100% merino.
Good learning point: I now always wash my swatch 3 times.
Sad learning point: “superwash” does not mean “OK to machine wash with a load of jeans”.
Decided to make size F, with 123 cm chest measurement.
As learned from the toddler/baby sweater, there was major shrinking on first wash in the washing machine. It’s also totally felted, which was not expected. Although it looks extra special now, it’s kind of stiff and not super comfortable to wear.

Chest measurement 95 cm
Swatch before washing and blocking:
Stockinette, 3,5mm:
26st = 10 cm wide
36 rows = 10cm high
Colorwork, 4,0mm:
26st = 10cm wide
30 rows = 10cm high
Swatch after washing and blocking:
Stockinette 3,5mm:
24 st = 10 cm wide
36 rows = 10cm high
Colorwork 4,0mm:
25 st = 10cm wide
30 rows = 10cm high
MC is too tight in colorwork section

My daughter’s sweater with this yarn seems to be shrinking quite a bit in the washing machine:
Stitches 25 to 29 per 10 cm; rows 36 to 44 per 10 cm. That’s 20%.
So swatching on 4,0 and 4,5 mm needles is definitely needed

Swatch on 4.0 mm needles, not washed:
23 stitches and 33 rows = 10 x 10 cm (roughly)
Swatch on 4.5 mm needles, not washed:
21 stitches and 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm (roughly)
Plan: I should make a size with chest 105-110 cm if gauge after washing were perfect.
Pre-washing swatch seems good on 4.5 mm needles.
Then 105/0,8 is 131 and 110/0,9 is 123, so I’m hoping the size 130 or 123 cm is going to work out.
It takes about 1555 or 1646 m of MC yarn and I have 1600 m, so it might just be enough.

Mistake in row 42, might fix with duplicate stitch.

Ooops. Forgot the decreases, will make those in row 9 or 10
05-09-2022:
Pattern says decreases in sleeves every 18th round. I will do every 21st round for a total of 5 times
17-09-2022:
Sleeves should be around 61 cm measured from neck, of 50 from armpit. Will knit around 75 cm / 60 cm to control for the shrinking.
