I bought 8 packets of 25g each, which by my count is about 2480 beads, so I should in theory be able to complete the bead pattern I want.

have got this on the needles right now! I think part of the issue here regarding the silkpaca is that it’s going to produce a much airier looking fabric with looser lace than the sample. I’m not currently sure how I feel about this or if I should tackle this project with a different yarn

completed chart A - this is the first time I’ve done a chart with both right side and wrong side rows written out - I really appreciate this pattern alternating shading every five columns, it’s very easy to read at a glance how many of each stitch I have without stopping to count meticulously.
I have also been reassured that this state of affairs I have right now is very common for alpaca and alpaca blends and that it should improve itself greatly with blocking for which I am glad.
The beads for this have been bought and supposedly shipped, but I don’t have them yet, so we’ll see!

Completed Chart B. I’m currently waiting on the beads that I want for this shawl - which I think I’ll start adding on the 4 repeats of chart E. I think the beads will get here before then, but with the weather it’s not 100% certain.
Feeling much more confident about this project though!

Finished Chart C!

see pattern photo for bead placement, but overall I think this is going to be a much simpler beading pattern than the dragon tamer shawl.

Finished first of three skeins of yarn today, circa 122/212 rows in, hopefully we will have enough to finish up 4 repeats of chart E
01-09-2026
finished first repeat of chart E
01-12-2026
finished second repeat of chart E
01-13-2026
finished third packet of beads - used up 926 beads across 75 grams
01-15-2026
Finished 3rd repeat of Chart E
01-17-2026
finished 4th repeat of chart E, onwards to chart F

completed! now to get it blocked out for better and more beautiful photos and sent off!
I’m so so happy with how this project turned out. Definitely one of my favorites to have made.

And she’s off the blocking boards! 82 inches across the top and 40 inches deep
I used 1674 total beads and only beaded the E chart - there was enough yarn to finish a 5th repeat, but I didn’t want to push my luck on how the semicircle would turn out, and I’d gotten a bit tired of continuing, and in the end this shawl turned out humongous so it was a good decision to stop.
