Notes

I wanted to make a sample project that uses multiple colors. The most difficult part was to decide on the colors! Other color combinations that I had considered (from top down):

  • Dark Cochineal, Natural, dark Sumac
  • Acorn, Cochineal, Brown Eyed Susan
  • Medium Sumac, Loquat, dark Sumac … ok, let’s do one at a time!

Naturally dyed colors blend beautifully.

I cast-on this sweater on the first day of the Houston Fiber Fest 2019, the premier of Texas in My Hands.

Houston Fiber Fest Inspiration

While working on the sleeves, the memory of all the boxy, cropped, sleeve-less tops that I saw at the Houston Fiber Fest wouldn’t let me come to rest.

I wanted to see what a sleeve-less version of the “In the Tweeds” would look like, and buddy-knitter Betty volunteered to model.

Case closed. It had to be sleeve-less. I used the hem pattern for 10 rounds, then bound off in purl.

I could not be happier.
