In all of my decades of crochet and knitting, I have never had such a perfect combination of yarn and project as I did with this one. The mile high hat is such a wonderful brioche project that’s really good for people who are new to brioche. It’s stylish and absolutely a great warm-hat staple. I used 29 Bridges Studio bloom DK base yarn, which is a non-superwash mixed wool that makes for a super velvety and lush brioche hat. I’m absolutely in love with this hat.

The Italian cast on is recommended for this hat and that was the toughest part for me, but I definitely recommend doing it and not a different type of cast on so that you have good stretch at the opening of the hat
