Looking through my yarn stash and my library searching for a new project, I found that I had everything I needed for this gem of a cabled sweater. I initially had something completely different in mind when I started looking, but sometimes your stash leads the way for you sweat_smile I am pretty sure I bought some yarn when I got the pattern, but at this point I have not a clue what yarn that might have been… The Sol yarn is left over from other plans/projects and fits perfectly, so here I go!

There. Done with the ribbing for both sleeves + front and back pieces. I’m so tired of twisted stitches right now, since I just finished a cardigan with TONS of it right before starting Maimi sweat_smile But I love to be done with all the ribbing before starting with the real fun part, so I’ll be thanking myself later see_no_evil Looking very much forward to start knittin’ cables n’ stuff!

I always find it a little challenging to feel 100% sure when I measure cable knits, since the cable pattern pulls everything together until it’s blocked. Lucky for me this time, I can use my Arine to compare with. And right now I am ready to start armhole shaping on the back, yay grin

The back is done and I’m hoping to get started on the front tonight. I’m loving it so far! The cable pattern is so easy to follow since all the twisting action always happens on the same row. And I love that it’s knit in separate pieces which makes it so quick and easy to wash and block! I just realized that this jumper will be more light weight and less bulky than any of my other cable knitted jumpers, and that’s a big plus since I’ll probably be able to wear it even when it’s not super cold sweat_smile

A couple of days/nights with no knitting due to headaches, an inflamed shoulder and general fatigue. I have been thinking a lot about taking up Hardanger embroidery again lately, so I decided to use this downtime to get around to it. I had forgotten a good deal of the stitches, but luckily I was able to figure it all out, even the cutouts, and then I’m pretty confident I can continue making nice things in all white relaxed

Not sure how this always happens, but here I am again at 2 in the morning, weaving in the ends on the last sleeve… I am going to be a very good girl and leave the soaking and blocking until tomorrow for once. Christmas Eve seems to be a great day for that, right? Right? A nice present for myself! Oh, and after that I’ll finish the second Hardanger embroidery heart I started on today, just in time to cook Christmas dinner, perfect!

Christmas Day, perfect for getting cozied up and adding the finishing touches. Three needle bind off on the shoulders to join the seams, picking up stitches for neckband and knitting it, and lastly sewing all the pieces together. Good times!

I thought I would be able to take some nice photos “out in the wilderness”, but I soon realized that it’s way too cold for that atm… A short shoot on the balcony will have to suffice for now!
