Notes

I LOVE these socks! So easy, but fun. I cut out the yellow-green lengths of yarn in the colorway, because I found that the color didn’t go well with the rest.

Also, on the legs I alternated 2 balls of yarn to get the contrasting colors against the stockinette stripes. I LOVE how it turned out!

I started these with 1 1/2 dpns and found that the pattern made it a little too tight, so I had to start over with 2’s. Those worked great on the leg, but I probably could’ve gone back to a 1 1/2 for the foot. Ah well, they aren’t TOO loose, just a tad.

I chose to make the heel in stockinette.

This was my first time doing the star toe. I really like it. I found that the length calculated to save for the toe wasn’t enough, but I also don’t like super narrow toes. So I chose to do 2 decrease rounds in a row (to 24 stitches and to 16 stitches), and I grafted the remaining 16 stitches. That turned out to be the right amount of length needed to appropriately close up the toe for the right size.

Anyway, I wouldn’t say this about many patterns, but I just might make another pair or two of these in other colors.
