The contrast color yarn is a stellar skein of Malabrigo Nube that was a gift from the irrepressible JustJack. I feel so honored to be able to work with this beautiful skein and nothing else would pair so well with the Rios.

I played a bit with some of the finishing details on this sweater; mimicking the hem edge at the sleeves and adding a garter Peter Pan collar.

I picked up and knit the collar stitches from the wrong side after the button band was complete. One stitch worked for each garter bump, just like the stitches picked up from the yoke. I worked two rows of reverse stockinette, then switched to garter for six additional rosin the main color. I finished the collar with one row of contrast color, before binding off.

The hems on the body and sleeves were finished by
grafting with a bit of the main color into place.

I used Tech Knitter’s Tulip Button Hole instructions on the second row (wrong side) of the second contrast color addition to the button band. Additionally, I used a needle one size smaller to knit the button band for a slightly firmer band.
