Round 2: 8 puff stitches.

Round 3: 16 SC

Round 4: 16 puff stitches

Round 5: 32 SC

Round 6: 32 puff st

Round 7: 64 SC

Note: after this round, you won’t double the count on the puff stitch rounds or else it won’t lay flat. When I work less puff stitches than SC I like to work in the front loops of 2 SC instead of skipping a stitch so the “decrease” is invisible.

Round 8: 42 puff st. Alternate working the front loop of 2 SC for your first puff and a puff alone in the next SC all the way around.

Round 9: 84 SC

Round 10: 56 puff stitches. Work in the same way as round 8.

Round 11: 112 SC

Round 12: 67 puff st. Work the first on over 2 st and the next 2 over one stitch each.

Round 13: 134 SC

That is the end of working the bed, 3 rows left form the brim:

Round 14: work 67 more puff stitches in the front loop only, each over 2 SC stitches. We will need those back loops later.

Round 15: 134 SC

Round 14: same as round 14, 67 puff stitches working 2 SC together.

Now fold the brim out and slip stitch each stitch to the back loop of a SC from round 14.
