Test knit for Malabrigo

NOTES:
My gauge - 26 sts x 31 rows for 4” x 4”

The sweater weighs 382 grams. I used less than 6.5 skeins for both the sweater and swatches. For some reason the weight and the number of skeins never ties on Ravelry when using Malabrigo.

The pattern does not line up well at the seams and knitting in the round would solve that issue. I would have liked to knit this in the round but I’m not sure this pattern could be worked in the round.

This sweater took a lot longer to knit than I would have ever anticipated. I really did enjoy knitting it. This is my first adult garment knit in pieces. Though the seaming took a good bit of time, it was so nice to see how it all finally came together. Even the inside looks nice! :-)

This is my first time knitting with Malabrigo Silky Merino. I love it! It’s so soft and it has such a nice sheen.

08/23/09 - It’s done! I love it! It’s a perfect fit! The sleeves hit at about just past the heel of my hand where my palm starts.

08/20/09 - Neck is done! I still need to block the sleeves and seam everything. I’m hoping to have pics up by Monday.

08/18/09 - Sleeves are done! I will block those tomorrow night. I seamed up the left shoulder - so far so good. Now on to the neck!

08/17/09 - I took a few days off to work on some baby gifts. I have 14 rows left and the sleeves will be done!

08/10/09 - These sleeves are going so slow. I am knitting both at the same time.

08/06/09 - Front is done! Working on the sleeves! Maybe I’ll have this done by the end of the weekend? That would be nice!

08/02/09 - Finished back panel. Now on the front.

07/31/09 - This knits up fast once you get past the ribbing! I almost to armholes on the back side.

07/29/09 - The back ribbing is done. I’ve decided to knit the front ribbing before starting the pattern stitch to help keep a consistent gauge on the ribbing.

07/28/09 - Finally cast on! Yay!

07/26/09 - Ugh! On my third swatch.
