Once again, Lynn, one of our wonderful store knitters, made Gramps for us in one of our favorite superwash yarns, Malabrigo Rios.

We made a couple of technical adjustments to the pattern to get the results we wanted. In picking up for the right front section, button band and shawl collar…we picked up 3 st. for every 4 rows, rather than picking up in every row, as we felt it was a better finish to the band. Also, the bind-off for the collar, as written, gives a rolled edge and a somewhat ‘stand-up’ collar look. We preferred a collar that lies flat around the neck so we used an elastic bind-off.
