Did my swatch this week and needed to go to 5mm needles to get guage. Swatch turned out so nice I’m going to keep it and use it as my new mug rug.

Cast on a week ago. The pattern is very easy once you get the repeats.

Only a few rows left on the body. I like the way the fabric these two yarns are making. The only thing I’m not crazy about is that the difference in the the light green/yellow colors is really subtle and unless you know they’re different colors they look the same. If I make this again I’ll look for a veregated yarn with more contrasting colors. It’s also taking less yarn than I thought it would. I haven’t used a full skein of either yet. It will probably only take 2 balls of each to complete the sweater.

After a couple disasters I’m finally back on track with this project. First, my needle broke and some stitches laddered down that I didn’t catch right away so I couldn’t figure out why my pattern wasn’t lining up so I ended up taking the yoke down to where the sleeves join. Then one of my stitch holders came open on one of the sleeves and laddered down. So again I had to rip back the yoke and part of the sleeve. I love the way this sweater is turning out but I am so ready to move on to the next project.

Finished! It turned out so pretty. The only deviation from the pattern I did was to knit one round in black at the start of the collar and did a K2tog every 6 stitches to bring it down to 101 stitches then at the start of the next row I K2tog to make it 100 stitches for the collar. I did 16 rows K1P1 ribbing and tacked it down in half on the inside. It fits perfectly. I’ll have to wait till it’s 40 below again to wear it tho. :)
THANK YOU to my best friend Janet. Her generous birthday present (gift card) helped purchase the yarn for this project.
