I did my best to transcribe the video, I’ll be checking for accuracy as I work. All credit goes to the original designer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zC1Twk75i1o

I’m a 38J cup (US size), so this will be an adventure in fit! For now, I’ve done 14 rows for a total of 85 stitches (42 each side, 1 turning). I also crocheted in the front loop only for the WS rows and the back loop only for the RS rows to make nice ridges and draw the fabric closer to have fewer holes in it.

I’m doing an upside down rainbow because the shades of pink at the top looked … interesting, to say the least. stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye

I added 42 sts along the bottom edge of each breast cup (84 sts) and did 34 foundation sc around the back (108 sts total). I’m closing up the open back in the waist section because I think it will fit me more comfortably that way. I have a bit of purple left over but I’m starting the waist section in blue, since I’ll want purple to rainbow braid the straps.

I did 11 rows of hdc for the waist, skipping the patterning because I wanted a bit more structure there. Every other row, I did a double decrease at the front center, right between the two breast cups. I also added a rainbow on the back joining the two cups: two rows color of hdc, doing a decrease at the beginning and end of each row.

For the skirt, I started it a little higher, since there’s such a dramatic difference between my waist and hips/butt. I did the 2 dc in each stitch, then one row plain dc, then another row of 2 dc in each stitch to create a big skirt.

The cups have ended up a bit too far apart due to their size, so I think I’ll do a pineapple stitch between them to give more structure and coverage.

To fill in between the cups, I started with a ch 2, join to side, ch 1, dc, ch 1 dc in same space, ch 1 and 1 more dc in same space, then a ch 1 and join to other side. I did one more dc per row until I had seven dc and 8 ch1 spaces, then I alternated each row between doing dc in the ch1 spaces and into the top of the prior dc. Kind of hard to explain, but it created a sort of mesh look and gave more stability and coverage on the front.

The back is quite low even with my addition above the waist, probably because of how large I had to make the cups, so I may fill that in somehow, or just deal with the fact that you can see my bra.

Overall, I would probably try a different kind of cup or front if I made this again, but it should work well for those with smaller breasts.
