Garter Stitch Poncho for Tiny Rag Dolls

I am upsizing this to fit the mini AGs to match Mini Ivy’s fall wardrobe. I love the pattern. Knitting was easy and quick, but figuring out how long to make the panels gave me fits. I decided the first one (30 stitches) was too long, but I didn’t have enough of the mustard-colored mohair yarn that I was determined to use to make another one. I figured I could always brave my fear of steeking to shorten it, so I forged on with a shortened second panel starting with 25 stitches. I sewed the front together. I got a terrible jog. I decided that I had to remove the stitching, which I had done very thoroughly, weaving in the ends so they wouldn’t come undone. Thankfully, I didn’t snip any of the knitting in removing it. My second attempt went better. Now I’m working on adding the fringe and hoping I have enough of that mustard-colored mohair. I think I have decided to just pin the back, and not worry about trying to sew it together. I have a cute little safety pin that might just do the trick. That way I won’t have to worry about getting it over the dolls’ heads either.

I love that the poncho is reversible. I love the colors I chose and how well they will go with the wardrobe. Now if I can just finish it.
