This took closer to an hour than the fifteen minutes the pattern says it will. I’m much happier now with it now that it’s done than I was while I was knitting it.

I think the main problems were the size six needles that seemed like knitting with logs, especially with this few stitches and in the round. The other problem was that the yarn was splitty and it’s a bit floppy. I think a nice, firm wool would be a better choice.

The brim was pretty floppy and loose at the edge when I tried it on Althea, so I reached into my crochet toolbox and pulled out a reverse single crochet or crab stitch. That was easy to do along the edge and firmed the brim right up.
