I made these with left over yarn from my Daisy Seaweed Socks project. I liked the picot cuff (even if I did the first one inside out by accident) and lace chart (even if it took me forever to do confidently) on this pattern!

The largest size the pattern includes is for a 8” circumference foot, but I needed to make it for a 9.25” foot. It was pretty straight-forward to modify; I just cast on 74 stitches (instead of 64) and extended the lace repeat by 5 columns.

Other deviations from patter:

• Unlike what the pattern directs, I saw no need to cut MC when starting heel flap! Just leave it and then once finished turning the heel begin knitting with it again (pick up stitches along the flap, knit across heel, pick up stitches on other side…)
• I did eye of partridge instead of the slip-stitch ribbing in the pattern (but probably shouldn’t have; heel flap is a bit loose)

Here’s how I did the heel for the larger size (with 38 stitches instead of 33):

sl, k20, ssk, k1, turn
sl1, p5, p2tog, p1 turn
…
pick up MC and pick up 19 (18 selvege + 1 extra) stitches along flap, k across, pick p 19, work row 13 of pattern, knit across needle 2 decreasing one at each gusset gap
gusset: 17 rounds of: 1 decrease round followed by 1 plain round (working pattern on needle 1, just knitting needle 2)
