Knitting this with the most beautiful skein of Shetland/silk, handspun and very kindly gifted by Liz (it’s a Shetland gradient batt set by Fellview Fibers, and details of the skein are here).

I would reckon it’s a sport weight handspun, so I think it should work perfectly with this pattern. I am so lucky to get my grubby mitts on this yarn and I’m itching to cast on!

Mods: I kind of over-estimated the 25% needed for the ruffle, so it’s deeper than the pattern: but actually I rather like it. I’ve cast off with a larger needle rather than using a loose cast off.

Also, I’ve lightly pressed the ruffle to flatten it out; just personally prefer how this looks…
