Notes

Knitting the smallest size for Miele, aged 10; should be OK, as she’s tall and rangy for her age.

I’ve had these yarns for a while (cotton/linen DKs) and I’m sure I bought them for a particular pattern, but whatever it was is now lost in time… Anyhow, they’ll work well for this particular pattern and also because Miele doesn’t like wool or alpaca next to her skin. There is no rhyme or reason to my choice of colour/stripe sequence, more that it’s an organic process!

13.2: looking pretty good! I’m glad that I’ve used all these different colours as it’s added a bit of interest. I’ve carried up the yarns where possible, though with 6 colours, there were quite a few ends to weave in (this, of course, was a breeze in the aftermath of this project).

Yarn: the Drops Belle is actually pretty soft, especially in comparison with the Katia, which is stiffer and much more robust. I will see how they wash and block together…

Mods: slightly shorter in the body and sleeves for the XS size. I’ve used the reverse st st option for the neckline (which I really like, btw).

14.2: almost dry: will give it a quick swirl in the tumble dryer (as I do with most of my knits) to soften and fluff it up.

Fingers crossed it meets with Miele’s approval: I’m sure she’ll let me know if it doesn’t, in her very polite and tactful way! I love it anyway (nice, very simple pattern) and I think there’s enough of the Belle white and grey to knit one for me. Hopefully, some modelled photos very soon.

24.2: she loves it and she looks AMAZING (as ever)!
