I know that if I have to knit the i-cord at the end and sew it on, this garland will never be finished. Instead, I’m starting with a provisional cast on, then working the I-cord (18 rows) and knitting together the live end to the cast on end. From there I cast on the rest of the mitten and start knitting the mitten.

9/04/16: Finished mitten 1 last night after casting on the night before. It’s so stinking cute! My icord method worked really well, too, so I’m optimistic this project won’t wind up sitting neglected in a basket.

9/08/16: Mittens 2 and 3 are done! 3 was kind of a pain in the butt and I’m honestly not a big fan of the motif on that one. :/ Oh well, on to fresh mittens.

9/30/16: Had my baby! Worked on #6 during labor, finished today 2 weeks later. No longer sure this will be done by Christmas…

11/04/16: Finished mitten 10. My new goal is to have 12 done before Christmas. Velcro baby is velcro.

11/07/17: Took more than a year off from this but now I’m back. Finished mitten 12 today. Hopefully it will be done by THIS Christmas!

11/28/17: I HAULED ASS to get this done before December 1st and hot diggity I did it! I absolutely love it and can’t wait to make it part of our family Christmas traditions! This is honestly one of the most beautiful things I have ever made.
