Using Jess’ modifications since I want a slim but not too tall pouch with the chevrons rather than a wide flat one.
Really need to work out if that foundation row is the diameter of the pouch. I suspect it’s less because the first round proper is a widening of the base.
Super unhappy with the first attempt which had too many flaws so restarting and hopefully with a smaller amount of stitches.
I theenk the chevron repeat is 10 stitches. So have to end up with a multiple of 10 when the base is complete. Might have to redo this a few times to get the number right. Or start with Jess’ numbers in case that’s big enough for my liking. 55 was too big with the first attempt.
Colour scheme:
Purple for the base, lower portion and lowest chevron
Blue purple variegated for the middle chevron
Teal for the top chevron and top portion
Blue purple variegated for the cord
Yep, those starting numbers were perfect. And the multiple of 10 was right.
Ugh. Some of the smaller crochet hooks are slipping through the base when the pouch is held upright by the neck. So annoying. This is why I should have used a smaller ply rather than 10 but i was so eager to get it done quick. Well, something to remember for the next time I make a pouch: use 4ply even though it takes FOREVERRRRRR, esp in sc.
So the mods I made to Jess’ mods below.
Fsc 13.
Round 1: Sc 12, 5sc in last st. Flip to the underside of the foundation row. Sc 12, 4sc in last st. (34 sts)
Round 2: Sc 14, (2sc in next st) x3, sc 14, (2sc in next st) x3. (40 sts). This measured 11 cms long for me.
Round 3: Sc around. (40 sts) (13 cms for me)
Rounds 4 - 10 (7 rounds): blsc around.
Rounds 11 - 25: as in original pattern
Rounds 26 - 29: blsc around
Round 30 (eyelet round): blsc sc, ch 2, sk 2, repeat.
Note: this round and the next will look lopsided because of the spiral construction. That will disappear when the cord is pulled tight and tied.
Round 31: blsc 2, sc 2 in ch sp, repeat.
Rounds 32 - 33: blsc around til one stitch remains, slst in last stitch. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Cord: Fsc a cord of whatever length. Sew in ends and weave the cord through the eyelets.
