I know Ravelry is about knitting but when you have a dog as cute as Ruby it is really hard not to end up with a superfluous dog picture every now and again. Sorry (not really though).
Anyway. I read through a ton of the posted projects for suggested modifications/alterations of this pattern and apparently learning nothing (or not enough) from them.
Here’s a list of what I did change and what I will change if I make another (and I very well just might).
-
Went down a needle size and knit the size up from what I would normally. Mostly because of the yarn I was using + gauge but also because I wanted a tighter looking knit.
-
Made the body only an inch longer. Thank goodness for blocking, which provided the extra inch or two needed to not be wearing a belly sweater. I don’t have any high rise jeans at the moment.
-
I would do the lattice on the smaller needle, it’s a little loose for me. And make it approx. 2 inches shorter so I don’t feel quite so risqué :)-
-
I’m not good at seaming. I should totally have taken the recommendation(s) to do the the body in the round.

Scrumptious 4 ply is an amazing silk + merino blend. Love, love, loved knitting with it. It seems somewhat loosely spun, I would use a pointier needle so I don’t split the fibers next time I work with it.
All in all though, I am very happy with the end product.
Back to the needles,
Kaitlin
