Notes

Casting on for a really gorgeous shawl. I went to the yarn store hoping to find some sunshine-yellow for a cozy blanket, but instead found this gorgeous sock yarn. The colors remind me of the beach in southern California, with their range of blues and seaweed greens.

Feb 22: Halfway through the lace section, and it looks like I’m going to have enough to do a few more repeats. I’m on row 19, (out of 38) and I don’t think my yarn ball has even started to get smaller.

Feb 28: Done! I did one extra pattern repeat, and I’ve got a plum-sized ball leftover, so I probably could have done another repeat, but I wouldn’t have anything big enough to block on if I had.

It’s blocking now, so I should be able to get pictures tomorrow. It’s not really a triangle, since my towel isn’t big enough to stretch it out right, but I’m okay with an amorphous diamond shape as long as the lace comes out nicely.

I really hate picot bind-offs. They take forever and eat your yarn. It looks lovely with this pattern though. I just don’t think I’ll willingly do another 300 stitch picot edge.
