No pattern used, I just tried a mish-mash of various techniques until things looked right.

Knitted top-down, raglan style. Waited to join until a few inches down the front for the slit in the front of the collar. The vertical portions were knitted seed stitch in-line with the rest of the sweater, then the top was picked up seed stitch border, but had to decrease on the edges the top to prevent it from curving inwards.

The waist is fitted with side shaping.

The “chainmail” brown is just an illusion (see images). All pieces were knit in single pieces. The bottom was the hardest part to do this way and I’m not even sure how to describe what I did to make it work. I started top-down (from the top of the side-waist parts) and then cast on for the front onto one, and joined it with the other. On the “other”, I cast on the back and joined back with the first one. Then I knit down the front and back flat till the length was how I wanted. Back was a little longer than the front since I knit the back longer in the green as well.

I used felt to back the embroidery so it wouldn’t get wonky in the wash.

I used exactly 1 Sage Green cone of Lily Sugar’n Cream and exactly 1 Warm Brown ball of yarn. I’d say I’m a size small (35-29-38). Add more yarn for larger measurements. I did have to get a little more yarn for the embroidery, but I was already planning to make a matching hat so not big deal.

I don’t plan to write a pattern for this because I don’t know how to describe some of the techniques used. However, if you feel inspired and want to try to make something similar, feel free to message me with any questions!
