Notes

(1.18.2//preamble) I chose to do a size small, using a single strand of worsted. I was able to achieve stitch gauge with 5.5mm, but row gauge…not so much :^/

I have made sweaters in the past, but never thought I needed to do a gauge swatch. It’s okay-- I learned lol. Definitely still adjusting to such comparatively large needles…I’m not used to my stitches creating such drape yet.

(the project) I joined for the body and then realized that I forgot to incorporate the lialykke modification…so I ripped everything back (first picture is immediately after I do so). It will be worth it, even if I wasted a few days lol. When I initially joined I was having serious issues with integrating the pattern into the backloop stitches. Will be more alert this time around.

I haven’t updated this in forever, mostly because I only just picked this project back up lol. I finished the body a few days ago.

The armholes are causing me grief. Picking up underarm stitches is something I enjoy, especially when I can admire any lack of gaps, but THESE armholes have presented an interesting issue. “These armholes” = my gauge was a little tight at the edges…creating inadvertent cap sleeves…I’m so tired. I will stare god in the face and walk backwards into hll before I give up on fixing this. As I write this I am beginning the right sleeve for the fourth time.

(6.2.21)
This is the longest it has ever taken me to knit a sweater, I just finished the first sleeve. The timeline has been defined more by my life, than the sweater itself. Like an idiot I never wrote down what I did to pick up this sleeve, I believe I had to pick up 7 every 10 stitches, and used a smaller gauge needle for the picking up/first armhole round to make it look smoother.

Followed lia lykke modification for the sleeve. I had forgotten to increase during one of the “change” rounds, so decreased ahead of schedule. 40 st ct on round 45, 36 st ct for round 54. Ultimately it didn’t matter, the sleeve is the same. So far it isn’t an overwhelmingly beautiful sweater, it makes me look fat, but I just want this disaster to be over.
