First of all, thank you SO MUCH to all the ravelers who added helpful notes to their project. I’m someone who almost always goes through people’s projects before I knit a new pattern, and learn from their notes!

The entire hat weighs only 63 grams.

I cast on 96 stiches using a tubular cast on on size 6 metal needles. I used six strands of lace weight yarn I had recycled from sweaters. Two were cashmere and four were extra fine merino. I ribbed for almost 2 inches. Then I knit one row, increasing 8 stitches evenly spaced, for a total of 104 to have an extra repeat of the pattern since Ron has a large head and many people have said the pattern runs small.

Next I switched to size 7 wood needles and knit the trees. After the trees I knit seven rounds with the black before beginning the decreases as in the pattern. I did switch to size 6 double points for the last few rounds. I just wet blocked now. The pictures with the ruler are of the still damp hat. The other picture is before blocking. I will try to remember to add a picture after it’s dried.
