hat came out a tad small, even with the larger needle.
used the white worsted held double throughout.
For the eyes, I knitted a pair instead of using felt using the following pattern:
c/o 24 with white on smaller dpn (I used #7)
join and knit around
(k2, k2tog) around
knit around
switch to black yarn
(k1, k2tog) around
knit around
(k2tog) around
cut and thread through last 6 stitches a couple times, weave in all ends in back.
if you use this you might want to switch to black a row earlier as the pupils were a tad small this way.
