When I saw the zigzag border on Raffamusa’s Rainbow Granny Blanket I thought it looked great so decided I’d add it to my blanket.

Mostly crocheted with yarn from a multi pack of 25g balls of Ricorumi DK cotton yarn. Plus odd colours using Drops cotton light and other cotton yarns. Background ecru cotton. Ecru every alternate row and changing the contrast colour every row for a total of 20 colours (40 rows) before repeating the colour sequence.

Oh my goodness I have so many ends to weave in and it’s going to take forever. Last year I made a smaller version with only 2 alternating colours and simply carried the yarn so didn’t have this problem. I tried working the ends in as I was doing the border but didn’t like how it was looking so undid the border to weave in the individual strands!! What this is also doing is delaying the zigzag border which I’m adding to each end and the thing I’ve been most excited about from the start.

I absolutely love the zigzag border but it too was a bit of a faff to work including yet more ends to weave in. I added 9 small triangles at each end to create the zigzag border and was pretty lucky that my stitch count was good to accommodate that. A small tassel attached to each triangle. So glad it’s finally finished.
