Notes

Great fun pattern, have been churning these out as so much enjoy knitting this clever pattern.

3 hats made in 3 afternoons! The pink hat, my first, was made from James C Brett Passion, knit with 2 strands thick to achieve the 11 sts per 10 cms.

I knit 21 rounds of stocking stitch, with 14 sts on 4 DPNS, before I started to decrease at the top of all 3 hats, this gives a sort of high gnome hat, which I like the look of.

The pale blue & cream hat, I knit 4 rows of garter above the forehead, as the 2 rows suggested by the pattern do nothing for my nose & profile, which looks better in hats which have double thick brims, the extra rows of garter made quite a diff to the look on me.

There is also a brim on the pink hat in the pic of me wearing it, I have since removed this. It was my prototype for experimenting with.

The blue tassel is a poor looking thing, far too thin, I am about to replace it with a more substantial affair!……Now added, see hat of pale blue & cream on its own.

Such a brilliant cosy hat for our Scottish winters.

02/02/2014: 3 fluorscent hats now added, see separate Ravelry entry for their notes, as diff gauge with the special reflective yarn used.
