06-26-16 - done! I washed it in the machine on delicate (no spin), rolled it in a towel to remove some of the water, and then dried it on low for about 3 hours… it was just damp. Spread it out and let it dry some more. Ended up putting it back in the dryer on the rack (so no more tumbling) for another hour to completely dry. It’s about 52” wide and 70” long. perfect! Marc is shipping it tomorrow so it will arrive in Madison when I do. FO photos coming once Sara opens the box.
06-25-16 - worked a 4-stitch i-cord for the edging (and had to join a 2nd ball about 14” from the end… glad I had it!). will weave in the ends and wash/dry tomorrow. unblocked, it measures about 50” wide and 60” long. hoping for a few more inches of width and length from blocking.
06-24-16 - finished the fifth two…and it’s long enough (woo hoo!!!) - a little more than 60” - I think the weight is definitely pulling it out. but that’s ok. I’m going to join the sixth two and work a few rows, then bind off and add the edging.
06-23-16 - nearly done with the fourth two. ~44” feeling good about using 12 balls for the afghan (so just two more sets to go!) looks like my width is going to be closer to 50” than 60… we’ll see once I wash it.
06-22-16 - nearly done with the third two balls. ~30”
06-21-16 - made a decent dent in the next two balls (about 1-1/2 hours of knitting) and have ~16”
06-20-16 - finished the first two balls (about 2 hours of knitting) and it measures 12”. so I have plenty of yarn, but I think it’s going to take a little more than 11 hours to knit!
06-19-16 - I’m actually using a 20mm needle. Hoping for about 60” wide, I cast on 53 stitches. Have 14 skeins of the oatmeal plus two barley for the border. Fingers crossed I can really knit this in a week! (first photo shows progress after 30 minutes).
